Barcol-Air and thermal comfort - research and mock-up facilities.

Barcol-Air’s goal is to create an indoor climate which offers the optimum in terms of comfort. We therefore consider it of the utmost importance that each customer has complete confidence in the design of their installation. Barcol-Air’s Climate Chamber and laboratory is designed to help prove the high levels of comfort required by today’s comfort and energy conscious clients.

Barcol-Air’s Climate Chamber complies with the latest standard (ISO 7726 and ISO 7730), These standards establish measuring accuracy, the methods of measurement to be used and the evaluation of thermal comfort in any occupied space.

The Climate Chamber has a floor area of more than 80 m² and is 4 meters in height. This enables full scale project-oriented installation designs to be tested. This gives the customer complete confidence about matters such as thermal comfort and the efficient operation of the air distribution and control equipment and becomes a blue print for the actual installation to perform to.

The Climate Chamber is equipped with a highly advanced data processing system which is capable of processing and presenting the measured values and the comfort parameters in real time computer technology. The client is then able to asses the designed system and have confidence in it’s suitability for the project.
